Steve is the second to the youngest in a family of eight children. Steve's father, Ron, got him involved in barbershopping at a very young age. Steve's eldest brother is a professional pianist, so perhaps it's no surprise that music comes naturally to Steve. He also plays the clarinet and the piano recreationally, and hopes to someday become a piano mover. Steve has been in several quartets and sang with several choirs, including performing multiple solos with the Arapahoe Philharmonic Chorus.
An avid Lego collector, Steve's "museum" now holds 16 bookcases filled with models. He has over 500 complete sets, consisting of more than 100,000 pieces. Some wonder how he finds the time.
